Button Wreath Ornament

We are down to the wire…only 10 days until Christmas!  If you are still trying to come up with a creative last minute gift for your co-workers, try this easy Button Wreath Ornament.  Pick up a jar of buttons this weekend or look through your collection at home.  I created these in green but you can try any color combination: black and white with gold, red and white, or even pastels for a frosty theme.

Here are the materials you will need to create a Button Wreath Ornament:

Button Wreath Ornament Materials

Once you have gathered your materials, follow these steps:

Step 1:  Cut a 24” length of wire and bend in half.  Create a small loop at the bent end and twist a few times.

Step 2:  Thread the wire through the buttons.  Vary the size of buttons as you go.  Or you can create a graduated look by starting with smaller buttons, move to larger buttons, and end with smaller buttons again.  Bend the wire into a circle as you go.

Step 3:  Once you have all the buttons on the wire, feed the ends of the wire through the loop at the start.  Twist to close the circle and trim off the ends of the wire.

Step 4:  Tie a loop of ribbon at the top to hang the ornament.  Or you can tie a pretty bow at the top and use the wire loop with an ornament hanger.  If you’d like, decorate the Button Ornament Wreath with felt leaves, colorful gems, or more ribbon.

These cute little wreaths could also double as napkin rings for your holiday table or as favors for your holiday party.  Want to personalize this ornament?  Just add a small initial charm with some wire!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HAPPY CRAFTING!
