Easter Egg Card

Easter is fast approaching! If you need cards to share, you can make this sweet handmade Easter Egg Card with ribbon scraps. Use a variety of ribbons to create stripes and embellish with buttons, appliques, and ribbon flowers. This finished card is 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Because it’s blank inside, you can create a personalized message for each person.

Easter Egg Card Beauty

To make this Easter Egg Card you will need the following materials:

Sewing Thread and Needle

5 x 8 Inch Decorative Paper

8.5 x 11 Inch White Cardstock

Double-Sided Tape

Foam Adhesive

Scissors

Ruler

Easter Egg Card Materials

Cut 8 inch lengths of each ribbon. Lay out the ribbon in the stripe pattern you want to use for the egg. Cut a 14 inch length of the pink satin ribbon. Pleat ribbon using thread and needle.

Print out and cut an egg shape to use as a template. Trace the egg onto the decorative paper. Cut the egg shape out from the center of the decorative paper. Apply double-sided tape around egg shape then adhere the decorative paper to the ribbon. Trim the ribbon edges.

Fold the white card stock in half to create a 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch card. Arrange the decorative paper with the ribbon over the front of the folded card stock base. Center it and adhere using foam adhesive. Attach the buttons and flowers with the foam adhesive.

Handwrite a message on scrap of white card stock, trim and adhere to card using foam adhesive. Write a special message on the inside of the card.

Easter Egg Card Final

Use this technique to create cards for all occasions. There are all kinds of shapes that will work: flowers, balloons, hearts, and Christmas trees. Handmade cards are a great way to make the recipient feel extra special!
