DIY Christmas Button Frame

Tis the season and with only weeks away the hustle and bustle of decorating  the home is awaiting.  This easy Christmas BUTTON frame will surely brighten your holiday mantle…

Materials needed:
Button Jars: Green 540001009; Red 540001006
Red & green holiday scrapbook paper
Wood letters – J, O, Y; 3 white frames; paint; brown ink pad with brush; glue, ribbon, scissors and holiday embellishments; foam stickers

All of these materials you can find in Joann Fabrics or even your local craft store.  Please check with your independent retailers to see if they carry our buttons!

Paint letters off white color and set aside and let dry.

With your 3 frames – carefully remove glass and discard (you will not need these). Measure and cut your scrapbook paper to fit in frame  adhere paper with glue to the matt.  Set aside.  Lightly brush on brown ink to age your frame.  you can also add brown ink along edges of your scrapbook paper and wood letters as shown below.

Add ribbon around the frame and then add buttons (although my photo shows buttons already on I learn as I go along!).

for my project I opted to do two frames green and one red.  There is no right or wrong – if you want mix all the buttons together.

Insert back matt into frame and secure back.  With your letters and foam adhesive – I wanted to give my letters dimension.  Add foam adhesive and center onto frame.

Add ribbon and embellish with holiday trim (holly, pinecones)

each one is just a bit different from the next.

Once you’ve completed your frames place on your mantle or side table to welcome family and friends!
