With summer coming to an end and the cool air of fall starting to whisper in the evenings, a Bolero is the perfect item to add to your wardrobe and allow you to stretch those tanks and sundresses just a little bit further!
Many patterns call for studs or beads as accents, a button embellished bolero can be a perfect and easy to use alternative that are also easy to get your hands on. Especially with so many fun themes and color combination packs available in our Favorite Findings brand.
Create your own button embellished bolero!
For my Bolero, I’ve used Simplicity pattern 2478, option C. I’ve used Favorite Findings buttons #1567 and #1389. You can purchase all these items at Joann Fabrics!
Play with your button placement to find the perfect mix and balance of embellishments for your garment. I like to photograph my work at this point so I can easily reference it as I sew. For the buttons that I sewed on, I used a gold, metallic thread that compliments the Gold Rectangles as well. The other jewels are adhered with fabric glue.
This is one of those projects that you can easily personalize to match your style. The more we added, the more we loved the results for this one.
