These Spring Hair Clips are so easy to make using tulle and cute shaped buttons. And the best part – no bow-tying skills are required! These make a great gift and you can even add them to an Easter basket!
To make these Spring Hair Clips you will need the following materials:
1/2 Inch Bunny Buttons 002501136
3/4 Inch Pink Butterfly Buttons 40041345A
Offray 6 Inch Dotted Tulle, Yellow 835119
Offray 6 Inch Dotted Tulle, White 813018
Offray Grosgrain Ribbon, 3/8 Wide, White 061237
White Thread
Hair Clips
Scissors
Ruler
Hot Glue Gun
To begin, cut three pieces of yellow tulle to 3 inches by 6 inches. Do the same with the white tulle. Heat seal the ends.
Stack the three pieces of yellow tulle on top of each other. Lay the stacked tulle flat. Starting in the center, gather the tulle together by pulling it towards the center from both ends. Wrap thread around the center and tie to secure. Repeat to make the white bow.
Glue or sew buttons to the center of the bows.
Next, wrap the hair clips. Cut a piece of white grosgrain ribbon to wrap each hair clip. Apply glue to one end of the ribbon. Glue it to the underneath of the top side of clip with the clip open. Close the clip and apply glue to the top while pulling the ribbon over the end and press it onto the top of the clip. Continue gluing the ribbon to the pinching end of the clip.
Glue the bow on to hair clip. Let the glue cool completely before wearing!
