As I sit in my office thinking of what NEW Button Projects to create for the Valentine’s I see an old project I’d like to re-visit! This Button Heart Frame I created brings back such memories of a Love that will never die and will always be treasured in our Hearts!
Materials you will need:
La Mode Button #48179
Favorite Findings Button Shank Remover (optional)
Wood heart frame
Assorted ribbon: red, cream
Scrapbook paper
Red gems (self-stick)
Glue, scissors, brown ink pad & stencil brush, pencil
*ribbon I used for the original project was a red velvet ribbon, red sheer & satin ribbon – however the ribbons in photo will work just as well…
Begin by selecting your scrapbook paper. Lay frame onto paper and trace (remember to trace the inside heart!). Cut and adhere to frame, set aside. The next step is optional – using the Favorite Findings Button Shank Remover – carefully remove the shank from the button (you may want to place one hand over the button so the shank does not fly as you clip the shank off). Create two (2) bows – the creme ribbon should be slightly larger than the red. Locate you ink pad – using the sponge gently dab around the frame creating a vintage feel to the frame – see photo for reference. Remember to ink the edges just a bit darker. Set aside to dry. With your glue – run a beam along edges and attach ribbon – cut off excess. Add gems to your button and frame. Add your favorite photo and display proudly!
Be My One & Only Forever…
Happy Valentine’s Day
Happy Crafting!
