Bejeweled

Hi, this is Coco, I’m writing the fashion and sewing blog for Buttonlovers.com.  I hope to write about current fashions, color and trends happening in the button world!

During a lunchtime shopping adventure, I couldn’t help but notice a handful of store windows decorated with mannequins wearing jewel studded collars on sweaters, tops, and dresses. This feminine trend is also splashed all over fashion sites, blogs, and the beloved Pinterest. Glitz is all the rave this winter for holiday fashion from runway to the television screens and right to your favorite department stores. Something else that has been floating around in the fashion air is the perfectly pretty collar trend that has been decorating dresses and tops all over fashionable women across the globe. Why not be bold and combine both of these stylish trends into one stand out look this holiday season? Besides being absolutely adorable, I love this bejeweled trend duo because it is something that can easily be made yourself in minutes with sew-on jewels and buttons for a fraction of the price you’ll pay in stores.

Here is the look and how you get it:

What you’ll need:

A plain sweater, top, or dress

Rhinestones, needle, thread

Blumenthal Lansing Favorite Findings™ gems can be found at JoAnn Fabrics, Wal mart, Hancock, and your favorite fabric and craft store.

How to create:

Step 1.

Have your garment ready.

 Step 2.

Mark the rhinestone placement with stitches or fabric marker. You can make one simple line in the shape of a peter pan collar or you can fill the collar shape with multiple gems for a more elaborate look.

 Step 3.

Stitch rhinestones in place. Use multiple sizes and colors as desired. Enjoy your new look!
