With the hussle and bussle of shows I wanted to share with you my recent trip to Frankfurt, Germany where I had the opportunity to attend the 2013 Creativeworld this year….Was I ever impressed! Our company Button Fashion also participated this year with great success! This show is the biggest trade fair for the creative sector – new international contacts and also where you discover the latest innovations! What I’ll do is breakdown this blog into two portions – todays blog will feature the show itself and later our booth!
For those who don’t know what Creativeworld is this a four day fair. Over 240 international exhibitors participate. Featuring the latest innovations in:
Decorative Crafts – ribbon, giftwrapping materials, wire, tape, styrofoam, tools
Graphic and artists’ requisites – art, graphic and drawing articles
Handicrafts, textile design
Hobby and crafts – handicraft materials, sets, batik dyes, glass paints, books just to name a few!
It’s actually in conjunction with Paperworld but separate venues. Paperworld – trade fair for paper, office supplies and stationary…I should also point out that Christmasworld also occurs during this time – world of seasonal decoration! BIG SHOWS! Creativeworld focus’s on hobby, crafts and artists’ materials. Did I mention Big ok, lets try HUGE!
No matter which direction, ailse, floor you were on the booths were filled with people looking to see new, new, new…
There were many demonstrations and MTK’s going on! The above photo the young lady was demonstarting the art of ring making! Below they were creating felt handbags!
Also featured at the show was the Creative Trend Show. This portion of the show features first hand how you can create with traditional and new. It allows you to “discover the latest array of techniques, material and colors from the show. Where you gather inspirations form the lavish trend presentations, uncover new products”. There were three strong trends – Romantic look – delicate materials – palette of pastel and sorbet shades, combined with white…Rhinestones and gemstones sewn on at unusual positions across the entire surface such as sofa cushions, gloves and scarves…Hearts – the symbol of love was everywhere and still extremely popular. Greeting cards and writing paper that “personal note” with poetic messages. Stamping, calligraphy, punching strong. Embroidery was the top trend shown, from table to bed linens in gently sorbet colors. Jewelry designs incorporate soft touches of feathers…
Modern Decoration was the next trend – as they state “a festival of decorations!” From gemstones, rhinestones and crystals – sewn, ironed onto textile, glass, leather and paper are the stars of the new season! Hand-embroidered sequins enhance clothing. Decorations and handmade designs adorn belts, boots and jackets – they can be applied either freehand or with templates. Leather, silk or felt bands can be transformed into creative designs using knots and weaving techniques. Glass bottles, vases and carafes are adorned with little beads or glass pearls…
Finally the Geometric Work – lines , stripes, zigzag patterns, pixel effects, drawing, typography and stylised sketches are the most popular in this category. Simple spray technique combined with letters, numbers on tee-shirts…Handmade decorations can be quick and uncomplicated onto drinking glasses…
If you get an opportunity you can actually log onto their site: trend-creativeworld@messefrankfurt.com for additional photos and information.
Lastly here are some photos from the Christmasworld show that I just happen to snap…
