I had an opportunity during Quilt Market to walk the International Quilt Festival. OMG! Breathtaking quilts created – artistically – there honestly are no words to explain how exquisite each quilt was! The best way to explain it – It’s like walking through a museum – each quilt is a piece of art work – created with love and a story. Your eyes are mesmerized by the work! I wish I had more time in this portion of the show – if you attend in the future make sure to leave enough time – you’ll want to spend as much time as possible.
This hall is divided into sections: Black & White; Silk; Modern Quilt Guild; Memories of My Childhood; Pet Project; In Full Bloom; Sense of Scale – focuses on the design principles of “scale” as used in quilts; Seasonal Palette – seasons of the year; and many more topics… International Quilts: Hands All Around – showcases talented artists from every corner of the globe – influences from their own culture; Brazilian Quilt Show – Brazilian people’s joy for life; Hungarian – featuring beautiful blue-dyed quilts with folk-art motifs; O Canada- reflects a Canadian theme. It keeps going!
Here are just a few photos that caught my eye and we were allowed to photograph…
So I hope you enjoyed my brief walk throught the International Quilt Market – there were too many to feature, these were the ones that I liked (everyone had a favorite or two or three, four, ten…).
Happy Crafting – Happy Quilting
