Handmade cards have an elegant feel but they can be very expensive if you want a handmade look for invitations and need more than one. We created these bridal shower Button Invitations using card stock, glue and buttons. It’s so easy! You could also make these as invitations to your Royal Wedding watch party!
To make your Button Invitations you will need the following materials:
Buttons, assorted sizes, various colors
Card Stock, White (or premade blank cards)
3D Pop Dots
Scissors
Glue Gun
Ruler
Cut the card stock to 8 inches by 6 inches. Fold it in half to make card to make a card that is 4 inches by 6 inches (to fit in a 5 by 7 envelope). You can also use plain premade cards and envelopes.
Use a free printable quotes program to print out the words Bridal Shower. Edit the lettering so that it fits into a 3-1/4 inch by 3/4 inch area. After printing, cut the paper to 3-1/4 inch by 3/4 inch area. Place 3 pop dots onto the back of the paper and glue it at the bottom of your card.
You can either create the heart free-hand or use a guide. To make a guide, print out a heart shape slightly smaller than the heart you want for the front of the card. Use it as a guide by placing the buttons along the outside edge.
To make your button heart place buttons down in the shape of a heart and then fill in with buttons. When you have the buttons where you want them, glue down into place.
If any of your buttons have shanks, use your handy shank remover so you have a flat surface on the back to adhere to the card!
Print out your event details on a piece of coordinating paper or vellum. Trim and insert into the card. You can use a piece of double-sided tape to secure.
These invitations are handmade and won’t have a flat surface so you will need to take them to the post office to be hand-cancelled. You should also expect to pay a little more in postage, as you would with other handmade cards.
Have fun with the buttons you select to create truly unique Button Invitations!
HAPPY CRAFTING!!
