Happy Halloween!
Here in the North East it’s be quite some time since we’ve seen a real halloween. With a snow storm in 2011 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012, Halloween has been hiding from us! But not this year. Now it’s time for some real fun and TONS of candy!
Since we always have buttons on the brain here at Blumenthal… I decided to note some fun, scary, and cute characters we all know – that are wearing buttons. It’s never obvious! Buttons are awesome everyday objects, and maybe next time you’ll take note on how many you see each day.

1968 movie Rosemary’s Baby

Video still from the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
As a kid I always loved watching “Violet turn violet”. This would make a fun costume… but there’s no guarentee the buttons would hold all that air in! 🙂

Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (movie)
I love the print and collar on the Christina Ricci’s “Wednesday”. I don’t know if the collar has a special name, I might have to ask Taylor!!

Wednesday Addams from the TV show – even her doll’s dress has buttons!

Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz

The Penguin from Batman Returns 1992

Jack Skellington

Beetlejuice 1988
Beetlejuice and Jack Skellington have only 1 button, but did anyone ever realize how similar their outfits are? I only just noticed while looking through some movie pictures… Not to mention both movies have Tim Burton in common 😉
And for our not-so-creepy characters

Mickey Mouse

The Gingerbread Man from the movie Shrek
Even if the buttons are edible.. it’s the thought that counts!

Many of the dwarves have buttons too!
